Does the slide move up and down in the carb? It should move freely up and down.. Have a professional clean and set the carb!!!

On a website where another guy had this problem, the previous owner told the new owner that he shifted it into 4x4 while in the mud and it is now stuck in AWD. According to Blueline15: "previous owner did a very bad thing. for anyone who doesnt know, remember this example. although you can flip the 4x4 switch while moving, if your back tires are spinning while in 2wd, you can not go into 4x4 or you will cause this problem. just remember this, the flip on the 4x4 the front wheels need to match the rear in wheel speed. so either be moving and not stuck, or come to a complete stop.

if thats a cvt model maybe your shift lever is out of adjustment

Some of the Polaris have magnetic locking hubs there is a little black box up in front if I remember right it has three wires coming out of it I think two yellow and one red this unit controls the front hubs
I bypassed this control one time by running a low voltage 12 volt supply to the front hubs used a toggle switch to activate the 4wd when needed it was a old farm bike and the guy did not want to spend the money to replace the control box

It be the both cases of one of them. You should take it to a mechanic.
