I had the same problem with my 1999 sportsman 500. My problem was a worn needle valve and o-ring, the valve no longer sat properly in the o-ring and allowed fuel to fill the bowl and overflow through the tube.

The fix requires removing the carb. to replace these parts...while you've got the carb. off you might as well do a complete rebuild...replace float, jet etc. It will keep you from having to do it later.

I have a 2006 arctic cat 400,changed bad gas after sitting and will start easy but dies when i throttle up

Need to clean that carb thoroughly. Clean or replace air filter, check gas tank vent on cap, make sure you have a good fuel stream coming out of the fuel petcock. The old gas could have clogged the petcock filter.47154345-a373-435a-ad53-8a3f8dc531bc.jpg In the picture you can see the arrows pointing to the reserve and the main. This is where the fuel comes in and it is a very fine "plastic screen mesh". This can become clogged. The one pictured us from a cat.

Where can I obtain a diagram that shows fuel line routing for an unidentified ATV?

Hello, PLEASE think about this question...?? Big brass tube pointing (usually) up is the gas "in" hole, the small side connectors are vents.. they go down..the one on the bottom is a drain, it goes down..

Fuel leaking out over flow sitting still not running how to fix this

Assuming you have a carburetor and you have not previously worked on it it is likely you have some debris inside the "float bowl" keeping the float from floating up and stopping the fuel from entering the bowl. It "could be a number of things" First thing Id try is a few light taps on the carb bowl, if that doesn't work you will probably need a needle seat valve or to possibly re adjust the float level (if you have been in there messing around) The inside of the carb works almost like a toilet tank, but if the float isn't rising up to shut off the fuel it will just run out the over flow tube, hope this helps.

Engine dies out after driving 1-4 mile on a 2010 honda trx 420

I do need more info.. BUT, #1 the main ignition coil could be going bad..when it gets hot (electrically), it starts breaking down internally, #2, could be a clogged fuel system,, the system is vented to allow fuel to flow through the petcock to the carb. If the fuel tank is totally sealed, it will vacuum lock. Let the atv sit for a few minutes, then it repeats this cycle? #3- make sure the vent tubes on the carb are clean and will flow air through them!! These are the three most obvious choices and a great starting point. Make sure your air filter is clean and in good shape!!!!!!

I have a 2003 polaris/330 trail boss with a fuel problem. i had carb rebuilt at a shop .cleaned, new needle & seat installed. new plug, carb vent/ equalizer cleaned, tank vent clean. starts fine, runs...

there's a vent on the carb they might've have missed, the line could be clogged. insects and mud get in them. plus it could be the petcock on the tank. take it out and make sure the screens, are cleaned etc.

1996 Polaris Sportsman 400 Will Not Start

If your atv has been sitting this long, the carb is probably stopped up internally... take the carb to a qualified professional and have it cleaned and set...(take a few pictures so you know where all the hoses re-attach)

ALL it takes for an engine to run is:
1. A timed spark
2. Adequate compression
3. Proper fuel/air ratio delivered
