Will the crank shaft turn I would take the plug out and use a 1/4 in exstion and put it in the sparkplug hole needs to be about 10in to were it dont fall down in there and push to make sure the motor is not locked up
My Polaris 500 started quitting on me. It turned out to be corrosion on the left handle bar kill switch wiring. After repairing, I pulled apart many wiring connectors and filled them with dielectric (does not conduct electricity) grease to make them resistant to water and corrosion.
Hey Randy,
Sounds like the battery needs to be replaced. Take the battery to O'Reilly, Autozone, Advance Auto and have the CCA, (Cold Cranking Amps) checked..(load test).. this will tell you whether the battery is good or not. When you get a new battery.. make sure the connections are clean and tight..put a little heavy grease on the connections to prevent corrosion. This should fix your problem.
you nee to locate the battery wire on the starter then with a test light or meter put the probe on the post of the starter and it the start button, you should have 12 v at that point if so replace the starter, if not the check the solenoid
fyi, something to watch out for on those is bad crank seals. will allow a lot of air in and cause the engine self destruct. before the cdi try simpler things like coil and making sure all the wiring is right. good pickup coil.
