SOURCE: Have put new fuel pump on ,cleaned carb, new plug, gets gas plug fires but won't start, checked compression at98# don't know what else to do .

The battery voltage on a Suzuki I had would drop low enough during cranking with the electric starter motor not allowing the spark to be strong enough to run, the voltage regulator also didn't function correctly once and as the battery voltage dropped during operation engine would start to bog down and cut out due to low voltage for the ignition system.

SOURCE: 2004 arctic cat 500 4x4 starter turns doesnt engage starts with pull cord

The starter has to throw it's gear out using centrifugal force. The speed of the starter has to be enough to overcome the spring inside. It is either a little seized and needs to be rebuilt and greased up, or the battery isn't powered up enough to get the right speed to engage properly. In that case clean the battery posts and clamps well, then charge or replace the battery. To know if the battery is bad wait till it is charged... if it still doesn't engage try again with booster cables from your car etc. and see if it suddenly works fine.

SOURCE: arctic cat snowmobile problems

yes but I would also suspect the carbs we not cleaned fully. main jets and emulsion tubes as well as the idle air circuit... these all are important for proper operation. you will need to pull the idle mixture screws out as well.... if they are plugged from the factory you need to drill into them and use an easy out to remove them

Hello my name is Jeff and I have a 1978 Arctic Cat El Tigre 6000 and I took it and I pull start it and it starts great it idles a little bit high but then it dies 30 seconds later

fuel flow problem
could be low float level , blocked fuel lines , blocked fuel tap, blocked filter at the tap in the tank
it indicates that the fuel level in the carby is high enough to start but then drops down as the fuel is not being replaced quick enough--
that in turn makes it run lean and so the rpms goes up
the faster the rpm's the less fuel and so it stops

The starter engages and starts the motor fine when the motor is cold. however if you ride and try to restart the starter just spins and you can only start using the kick stater.

My 2007 Arctic Cat 250 2x4 barely starts and dies when you open the throtle any at all. No previous problems.

It sounds like it could be either a stuck choke, or a dirty carb. If you can see the choke moving freely you should try cleaning the carb jet and bowl. If you can try some carb cleaner first without removing the carb.

If you get it running, ensure you have fresh gasoline. I always store my engines with Seafoam to clean the carbs and keep the gas from going bad during storage.
