SOURCE: 2005 Polaris 700 sportsman 4x4 gets warm, looses power?

My 2005 700 efi is doing the same thing. So far I have found that the engine and exhaust get so hot that the fuel starts to boil and causes the fuel pump to vapor lock. I taped up the tank with some reflective tape/insulator stuff and now I'm trying to figure out why its running so hot.(The exhaust manifold glows red hot) I've cleaned the radiator and flushed the system. I just need to check the water pump and thermostat. Any other suggestions?

Ever time i use my winch it kill the motor

Might have corroded battery terminals which would cause the alternator to be loaded from the current demand from the winch that it is killing the engine.

Try cleaning all battery connections and if that doesn't work, your battery may not be able to handle the current surge of the winch due to age.

This winch should simple straight foward hook up. Your big red & black wires should hook straight to your battery. Red (+) black (-) if there is no fuse on the wires put at least a 20 amp.fuse close to your battery. These are the main power suply. They will go in a.small black box. Also coming out of the black box will be the wires that run to the cable in & out switch.and there should be one heavy ga. Wire going to the winch motor. Make sure the wire is good and clean when you hook it to the winch motor. Do not over tighten the nut . Just give a good snuging down. As for your solenoid box. That should be the little black box that your main power wires go into and controle wires come out of..
