The unit will not start. I have new battery. When I first put the battery in, it tried to crank. Than it stop trying to turn

Check your starter relay. Put a volt meter on your batt and make sure you have high 12s or 13volts. Follow your red wire from your battery to the relay (solenoid). If wires are loose, poor connection or if it is bad this could be the cause. Next thing would be to bypass the relay and connect straight to the starter. Use the wire connected to the relay. If it does not turn over nice and fast now it is either your connection to the starter or a bad starter.

2013 Artic Cat 500. Lights turn but why won't it crank or turn over?

Battery may be too weak to activate starter. Have you put it on a battery charger? Also--check the wires from the coil to the starter.

If you turn on the switch and run a wire from the positive battery terminal to the coil (hot side) and the starter engages you have a bad wire between the switch and starter.

2007 susuki, cranks but no fire to the sparkplugs?

check fuses to coil, all switches on ? will crank w/o fire if switches are not all on! remove boot from end of plug wire and w/well insulated pliers hold wire slightly away from eng or good ground of any kind on atv.turn eng over should spark blue and look hot. (snapping sound ) can be heard. if not the problem other componets can be tested but need knowledge of wiring. componets and able to use multi volt meter

Atv will not start.i have checked all the fuses and inspected wiring harness.all the connections are in tact.could the relay be the problem?

I assume you mean it wont crank with the starter? It could be the solenoid, the neutral sensor, kill switch or the key switch.

My 05 Yamaha Grizzly 660 will not start. In my limited troublshooting practice I looked at FUEL, FIRE and AIR. Here is the fault, the engine will not start. I checked wires/fuses, plugs, fuel lines and air...

Sounds like you have a stuck float needle in the carbs (2). Usually after a few days with gas in the carb they will free up, you could 'knock' on the carbs with the plastic end of a screwdriver to help free them up. If not, turn off fuel, drain the carbs and fill them with carb cleaner for 24 hours. Redrain, attach fuel lines and turn the gas back on. If still no start it's time for a rebuild...
