Won't start backfires truew carb was sank but got it running got home now nothing

Could be a few different issues - backfiring through the carb - are you sure that your exhaust has all the water out of it? If you check that - and pull the bowl off the carb and make sure you're float is not stuck. If your float sticks one of the symptoms is backfiring through the carb/sending fuel into your airbox versus drawing into the engine. If you can let me know how those 2 things are and whether it
s turning over and firing I can help you from there. All The best - Justin Lee Buy Honda Polaris Kawasaki Yamaha Suzuki Can Am KTM Parts you can use that site/ enter in your make, model and get a diagram for the carb under oem parts

2015 Polaris 900 won't start. Was starting with fast idle, rough running with backfires, now won't start at all. Was running perfect.

fast idle start usually indicates an air leak somewhere.check carburettor bolts are tight and engine head bolts are tight.try that first

Why does my yamaha 660 only run if the choke is on? What causes it to backfire?

Most of the time it's because the Pilot/Idle jet is clogged in the carburetor. This most often happens because of old fuel sitting in the carburetor during long periods of sitting and non-use. The fuel forms a varnish - a gummy layer inside of your carburetor and clogs the tiny holes in the idle jet. Since fuel can't get through, the engine dies. The hole for the choke is larger, therefore the fuel can still get through it.
