Opppssss way too much amperage from a car battery for a atv/motorcycle electrical system. sorry,,, see if the lights are bad... if they are silver-black looking, that's a sign of over voltage/amperage

After replacing battery, extra installed lights come on,but turn of ignition switch ,nothing.

You may have blown the main fuse for the starter relay. Easy to do. If you follow the red positive battery cable to the starter relay (most models) you'll find the starter relay at the other end. There should be a fuse in the relay or in a panel on the atv. Same type square standard sized boxed fuses car use. Best place to start. If you comment or answer with your year, make, model and engine size I can provide a better answer.

**FYI - that's a pretty standard starter relay. That's for a Yamaha Bear Tracker - two fuses - one is the main and the other is a spare that you can pull out and use. When the fuse blows no power. - With your lights - they will still work if attached directly to battery. Relay won't if fuse is blown.

29, 30 & 31 are the starter relay for the model this diagram goes to. Usually the relay is going to be close to the battery, by the way.

What would cause my yfz 450 not too have any electric power at all, no lights come on , tried to jump the selanoid n all it does is crank over but doesnt it start??? Any idea why or what the problem is???

There is a good possibility that your main fuse is blown. The main fuse is located on the solenoid. There also should be a spare fuse that is stored on the solenoid, however, if it's blown, something has shorted to cause this, and needs to be found. An important note, if the battery has been hooked up with the polarity reversed, that will blow the main fuse.

There's also a possibility of a bad connection at that fuse, or in the plug that connects the solenoid to the harness. If this is the case, it would just need a little cleaning, or replacement of the whole solenoid.

Troubleshooting arctic cat atv 650 twin, fuses are good but i can not even jump start, battery is fully charged, accessory switch, lights have no power. it ran perfect 2 days ago , I have read the manual,...

I think you have a dirty connection somewhere between the battery and the starter solenoid. Or... between the battery and the frame ground. Or - possibly - one of your battery cables is destroyed.

Don't keep trying to charge it or jump-start it if the battery is fully charged - you're wasting time doing that. Track down the battery cables and find the problem. Use a test light or a meter to follow the wiring - when you find where the voltage stops, you've found the problem.

No panel lights when ignition switch is turned on. Battery o.k. Wiring or fuse?? Merv.

check fuses... see if the bulbs are bad,,, silver-black looking means over-voltage... sometimes a hard ride will cause them to "just break"

Will not start

This repair should go pretty well. Start by load testing the battery. If the battery is old has some cell damage, then it would appear to be charged until it was put under a load. If the battery is fine, move onto both battery cables. Inspect both cables, from end to end. If anywhere on either cable the connection is loose, corroded, or frayed, it will fail to start. Then at last is the starter. unless you know how to bench test the starter. Please remove it and have it bench tested. This should just about cover popular failures. If you still have a no start issue then you either overlooked something or there is a defect in the wiring to the ignition switch circuit or the ignition switch itself. You can inspect the backside of the ignition switch and look for loose or over heater terminals. Good luck.

Unit stored 4 months, full fuel - stabilizer added, battery tender attached. Now unit starts runs briefly then quits, will not restart, wait for awhile and it will start but same issue occurs, checked fuel...

right before you stored when you added the fuel stabilizer did you have fresh gas and did you run the engine with the fuel stabilizer in for 5 to 10 minutes
