Check the MAF-MAP SENCER or it's a throttle position sencer is bad check both by replacing them and see if it works or the last result is idle control valve

  1. At what altitude? Bogging down is a symptom of not enough air or not enough or too much fuel

I have a 1998 Polaris Sportsman 500 ATV that won,t idle and backfires. Chuggs when idiling, Starts hard, even with choke. Hitting the throttle makes it die out

Could be a vacuum leak in the intake tract. Try spraying carb cleaner with the straw that come with can around the intake and carb area. If there is a leak, engine speed well change.

1995 [POLARIS 400 SPORTSMAN. carb has been cleaned AND REBUILT. STARTS AND RUNS GOOD LOW SPEEDS. DRIVES UP TO ABOUT HAlf throttle and cuts out. will restart and run the same again

if thats the 2 stroke (pretty sure it is) you have to watch the crank seals on those. cause running probs and eventually destroy the motor.

How many turn it take on the air mixture screw to get my 2010 Kawasaki 360 4x4 to start?

For the initial settings - 03-12
- lightly seat the pilot all the way to the back - lightly, too much torque and you'll ruin the o-ring in there - then back out the pilot screw 1 & 1/2 turns. From there - you let it run for 10 minutes or so and then adjust the idle to 1,300 +/- 50 rpm - turn your handlebars left and right after adjustment of the throttle lever to make sure it's okay and not binding up - and do your adjustment from the throttle stop screw. According to the specs, once you set that pilot at 1,300 +/- the rest of the adjustment is done with the throttle stop screw. If you do all that and it's still not picking up fuel - definitely give the intake/carb boot a good look over for any cracks or anywhere vacuum could escape - and if it still doesn't pick up the fuel - give the throttle set screw a turn or two. Had a 2000 Yamaha XT225 carb I rebuilt a few weeks ago - adjusted everything as instructed - but it wasn't picking up the fuel. I gave the throttle set screw about a 1/3 turn in to put a little nudge on the throttle and it fired right up. All The Best and Good Luck - Justin Lee, 17 South Industries, LLC

Starts, idles and runs great up 3/4 throttle. Why does it bog down after that?

Check for vacuum leaks. Spay starter fluid around intake, carb base, etc., while engine is idling, listen for change in engine idle.

Wheeler wont stay running even after it's warmed up. Choking it won't keep it running either. This just started the other day. No issues up to this point.

Remove the play in the throttle by loosening the locking pin on the cable, then pull the cable tight to remove the play and refix the locking nut. Once the play is removed adjust the jet so that its steady at idle.
