Most probably it's the fan relay.

SOURCE: fuses on honda atv trx 400fw alternator

If after starting and while it is running disconnect the battery...if it still runs then the alternator is working. Also you can connect a volt meter accross the battery and it should read 13-15 volts if working.

How do i remove my fan from my 2004 honda 450 trx

I am not exactly familiar with this particular atv.. start with removing the gas tank, this should allow you to see where the fan is connected and bolted to. It should be a pretty straight forward operation.

Honda atv

Yep. Probably most definitely the clutch, clutch cable , clutch arm at crankcase bad plates or discs. Also check the crank case for proper fluid level. I think those have a wet style clutch that's in the crankcase with the fluid right ? I had one of those but its been years. If I remember right I think there is a spring under the clutch basket that's connected to the throw out rod . If that failed it won't engage. Dump the fluid into a pan and see if ya got some spring chunks in ye old fluid.

I have a trx 125 1985 split case to put new main shaft. put back togather but will not shift it seems like the shift drum turns to easy. is there a certain way it is set in . the forks turn on drum till...

The transmission has to be reinstalled in neutral. The shift drum should give away how to do this!
If you can't figure out how to accomplish this.. its time for a professional intervention!! (professional mechanic!)
