What direction should my starter turn on my artic cat

all engines turn in an anticlockwise direction when viewed from the flywheel end
so if you starter is alongside the engine it will rotate in a clockwise at the pinion end but if alongside the transmission it will be opposite to drive the flywheel in the anticlockwise direction

Just replaced starter motor. Flywheel has all its teeth and so did the old starter motor. Fuses look good. The starter is rotating but the engine will not turn over and start. whirring noise.

check that the pinion of the starter is engaging the flywheel teeth
check that the over run clutch of the pinion is engaging and not over running when it is supposed to lock up to turn the flywheel

Starter spins but don't engage and won't start please HELP!!!! This is on a Polaris RZR 800s 2013

Check to see that the pinion gear of the starter is hooting out and engaging the flywheel.
And if it is working it is possible that you have missing tooth/teeth on your flywheel and the starter cannot turn over the engine because of that.

How to remove carb from arctic cat 2005 atv 500cc

Dynamite!! lol

just joking there is no easy way to remove the carb I own and ran a ATV/ Motorcycle/ Outboard shop for years

Ok here goes: are you ready? 1. take off the seat 2. remove the battery 3.remove the airbox 4 remove the rear plastic and rear rack 6. you might to be able to get to it now (might)

if you can get loose and pull it out of the intake rubber boot 7. remove the fuel line (make sure the fuel pit is turned off or you will have gasoline running out) 8. remove the choke cable and carb heater wires

9.you should now be able to work it out of the frame, if not remove the front rack and plastic 10. remove the fuel tank (while your into it this far you should check the valve clearance ) they probably need adjusting anyway

and that is the easy way to remove the carb

Bombardier

Check how you wired up the starter. IF it is not right there will be no power for the solenoid to engage the pinion gear before there is power to the motor . The solenoid action is to push out the gear then bridge out the main contacts . If you are wrong the motor gets power but the solenoid doesn't move the pinion gear out.
