Question about Polaris ATV
2005 polaris sportsman 700 only 800 mi while riding check engine light came on started to flash hot looked at coolant resivore and it was overflowing however the fan was on it goes on and off properly not sure what to do to fix prob
You probly need a new heat sensor, its located on the bottom right of your rad, i had the same problem with my 700 the fan only worked when it was already over heating, i cut the wires flush at the sensor drilled a hole above the key switch and mounted a toggle switch, no more over heating,

I just changed the oil in a polaris 335 sportsman 2000 model and now the engine is overheating

Do you remove the rad cover when washing the rad out,
if not your not getting your rad clean enough.

Try the rubber carb boot between the carb and the engine. Look for cracks. Mine had a crack up under it which caused it to run lean

I had this problem and i cleaned the radiator and had to replace the filler neck on the radiator when it got hot it cracked it and didn't allow the radiator to pressurize this is a cheap fix the part only cost about 30 dollars

Low oil level in crank. Blocked radiator.
