there is an electronic position sensor in the throttle housing and if the throttle cable sticks even a little the sensor interrupts the flow of electricity and disables the engine to prevent loss of control so chase down your cable and lubricate it and make sure you have full range of movement

I am assuming that your unit has fuel injection. Sounds like you might have a clogged fuel injector. Recomended is Polaris fuel injector cleaner but I believe you can use fuel injector cleaner from a part store but make sure it is diluted according to the instructions. However, being that your unit is a 2009 model, I would think that any polaris dealer would cover this under warranty being less then 1 yr old. If they won't cover the repair, then try injector cleaner. Good luck and happy trails.
