My arctic cat 4X4 with a Mikuni BST 31 carb suddenly lost power and fouled the plug.New plug makes it start instantly and it runs great for 10 sec then fouls plug.Diaphram is good. Bowl not leaking

Pull the carb off and rebuild it, it either has a failed fuel inlet valve or a sticking float or a plugged jet from dirt in the fuel. If you are careful you can do this clean out with no new gaskets, use carb spray and compressed air. You may need a new fuel inlet "Needle Valve and seat". If you do find allot of contaminates in the float bowl you will need to clean the fuel tank and lines to the carb.

What all can cause gas to run out the carb overflow line.

There is a bunch of things including, Hole in float, Dirty gas has left deposits on the needle and doesn't allow a complete shutoff, A damaged needle or seat, If carburetor has been taken off the float setting could be off, gas breaking down leaving a deposit on the needle or seat. Usually can be cured with a good cleaning and a new needle and seat. Check float to be sure it doesn't have a hole in it. If using 10% ETHANOL. fuel the fuel can be damaging your carburetor. I have had it eat a hole in the bottom of one of my carburetors so it does happen. I do not use ethanol fuel in any of my 4x4's anymore. May be more but good cleaning is needed.

How to remove a needle and seat out of a ymaha kodiak 400

Take the float bowl off the carb. Pull the pin that holds the float on. The needle is attached to the float. The needle just came out of the needle seat. The needle seat can now be pulled out. This is the fun part. Are you really sure it need replaced? If it is needing a good cleaning, take some Mother's aluminum polish and a cotton swab and put it in the seat and spin the heck out of it. It will polish up nice. Be sure to clean with carb cleaner to get any extra polish out before use.. reassemble.

Carb drain leaks?

This is caused by a bad needle and seat in the carb you can buy a carb kit and replace the needle and seat and it will stop leaking
make sure not to bend the float

Carb keeps overflowing no matter where u set float

Next step is inspect the float needle valve assembly (needle connected to float, and shuts off fuel flow to float bowl when float rises high enough).
Some needle valve have a rubber tip on them that goes bad over time.
Or, the needle or it's seat are just worn out, not fully shutting off the flow of fuel.

Diagram for carb on 350 bruin

Hi, Anonymous and the usual suspects are:
1. Damaged or restricted fuel tank venting system.
2. Loose float bowl screws.
3. Damaged float bowl o-ring.
4. improper fuel level in the float bowl.
5. Worn or dirty inlet valve or seat.
6. Damaged or leaking float assembly.
7. Particle contamination in inlet fitting cavity.
Good luck and have a nice day.

Lower carburetor flexible gas outline is draining and i don;t know how to fixed

sounds like your carb float is stuck and your needle and seat is open allowing the bowl to fill with gas and run out the overflow. take off the bottom bowl of carb and check to see if the float has a hole in it.
