You will have to get the cooling fan working before you look any further. It may be best to have a coolant system pressure test and a compression test done to eliminate engine fault also

No power to four wheeler Polaris sportsman 400 4wheel drive

Check the battery terminals for connection. Check the fuse box to see if power is getting to the fuses. Check to see if the starter is getting power from the ignition switch. Make sure the shifter is in N. Move the shifter back and forth while having the key in the start position.

Gary, Faulty fuel pump sending unit. Most of the forums I checked say this a big problem with Polaris, most say the pump and sending unit have to be bought as a assembly.

I have a 2009 Polaris Sportsman 500EFI 4 wheeler. Recently, the number 1200 started flashing under the speedo. What does this indicate?

that sounds like your clock. engine codes don't go that high.and if it was your clock you must of lost 12 volt power at some point.

Why does the engine load up at higher rpms?

you might have a dirty carb.check the big jet in there as it might have a blockage.sounds like you have enough gas going through the small jet to start the quad and for slow speed but when you want to give it good power, it starts to bog down.do the carb thing first

2008 polaris 800 sportsman touring wont engage in 4x4 high without holding in the override button

try this first right beside the reverse button u will see 2 sets of wires clipped into the control be careful and pull these 2 apart u will see they will be all corroded up clean them up and dielectric them see if that works its a easy fix maybe

if that doesnt work try this...

I replaced the speed sensor, got my speedo operation back, no more intermittent 4x4 issues, and no more stalling in reverse! It's actually quite annoying how many things are tied into that one sensor. Makes for a frustrating trip out of the bush if it starts acting up on the trail (like mine did). Good luck with your repairs!
