Anon, No idea what hole you are talking about unless you mean the one that the chain guard/cover may mount to. Check the attached links, instruction and guides, Good luck

I have a 1999 Polaris Ranger 6 x 6 what engages the front wheels transmission or front gear box

I'm in the UK and not familiar with your particular vehicle..
However, the front gearbox as you call it is probably a transfer unit/case. This transfer case takes power from your auto transmission and transfers it to the front wheels.

You can remove the front propshaft (drive shaft) from the transfer case/front differential and make your vehicle 2 wheel drive. This, supposedly, gives you better mpg.

How do you time a suzuki LT 230 atv

Hi John,

Find the 17 nut/cover on the left side of the cylinder and remove it - you should see the flywheel. There is an arrow cast into the casing next to this hole. Rotate the engine by hand (plug out to make it easier) until you see a line on the flywheel line up with the arrow. Engine is now at TDC.

Now position the camshaft so that the lobes are down, and you will see a line on the sprocket end. Line this up level with the head surface and fit the camchain. The engine is now timed. Rotate it twice and re-check the timing to be sure.

How to change the timing chain on a 2005 honda 350 atv

IF you are very accomplished mechanically, you can do this. Buy a factory service manual. Read it, read it again...then determine if you are able... if you drop it while it is separated... dealership time!!

2009 tao tao 150cc atv makes grinding noise and clunks in forward and reverse, I hear noise in the rear and the front sprocket jumps, what can it be? thanks

My first check would be the condition of the chain and sprockets. Check to make sure all of the teeth are still ok and if the tension of the chain is correct and that it is well lubed.

If the noise is more pronounced from the rear and chain and sprockets are ok, it could be the differential that has either failed bearings or damaged gears.

How to tighten chain on a kymco atv

Hi Matt only help I can give is look along top & bottom of chain for a tensioner it will be a round rubber wheel. If you cant find a tensioner it will more than likely you need to cut the chain down. If your not sure how to let me know & i'll let you know how. Also DO NOT USE IT while chain is loose as if you do & chain comes off you can crack engine case which then means a new engine
