It turns over, new battery. It\'s getting gas to the carb but won\'t start. Side note, when I spray starter fluid into the airway to the carb and cover the airway so it can suck in some of it then I let off it and a bunch of gas comes out. Is that normal?

My Polaris 500 efi won;t turn over

Stop trying to force it to turnover!!!!!

Will it attempt to turn over or is locked solid? What happened to make it not turn over??.. how did this start?/.. was it all of a sudden or did you hear something break..??

Two things.. one is part breakage - you would have probably heard it and the MOST likely-- is hydraulic lock.

WARNING - DO NOT USE THE ELECTRIC STARTER!!

  • A FIRE AND EXPLOSION WILL RESULT!!!

1. Remove the spark plug...then slowly try turning it over BY HAND ... if gas blows everywhere it was hydraulic lock..( the entire crankcase is FULL of gasoline and not allowing anything to move - this is dangerous - be careful - you can EASILY damage or break parts/pieces.
You have an issue with the carb needle/seat not stopping the flow of gas into the carb and it leaks into the crankcase..(seen this toooo often).. also seen people break parts and even BEND A ROD trying to pull it off with another vehicle!!
Remove the carb... remove the exhaust pipe.. remove the reed valve assy. .. this will allow the excess fluid to evaporate..CAREFULLY use air to blow through the engine...

2. Get the needle and seat in the carb replaced...
,,that should fix the issue
3. Make sure the petcock is stopping the flow of fuel to the carb too!

Do this and repost results.

Ran great was low on gas but never ran out parked it wont start now

remove the breather cover and remove the air filter, then spray some starter fluid into the opening, if it starts than it is not getting any gas, could be a stuck needle and seat, spray some carb. cleaner into the carb.

just for fun, while you're cranking it put your hand over the intake of the carb completely covering it and see if your hand gets wet with gas. this might even start it too.

Kinroad cyclone 800? I think

I would follow lines coming out from the gas tank to see one that goes to carburetor . I would try to blow mild force air into that line and see, with tank cap off, bubbles come out from tank;then try starting it and if it runs a little longer then I imagine something is clogging the flow. Hope suggestion helps.

I would say that the incorrect of use of gasket goo instead of the proper gasket has spilled into the bowl after assembly and is blocking the main jet --again
when working on a carby , there is no successful "short cut or lazy action"

Have put new fuel pump on ,cleaned carb, new plug, gets gas plug fires but won't start, checked compression at98# don't know what else to do .

The battery voltage on a Suzuki I had would drop low enough during cranking with the electric starter motor not allowing the spark to be strong enough to run, the voltage regulator also didn't function correctly once and as the battery voltage dropped during operation engine would start to bog down and cut out due to low voltage for the ignition system.

Sounds like you have a stuck float needle in the carbs (2). Usually after a few days with gas in the carb they will free up, you could 'knock' on the carbs with the plastic end of a screwdriver to help free them up. If not, turn off fuel, drain the carbs and fill them with carb cleaner for 24 hours. Redrain, attach fuel lines and turn the gas back on. If still no start it's time for a rebuild...
