I have a polaris 400 sportsman 4x4 liquid when I started it and ran it around the hot light came on but the radiator was full of water and still cold. any suggestions?

Water pump, (if it has a thermostat..remove it)...check your oil to see if there has been any water in will look like lightly creamed coffee...then water pump seal is bad..
Check the water pump impeller..check the fins...see if it will spin without the engine running...(it should NOT!)..

Does it have a thermostat?? ..Remove it.. ( I don't see one in the cooling system breakdown...??)

Is the cooling fan working?? ....
......... next check the water pump to make sure it working..(pumping water/coolant)

get a buddy to help you...

see pic... You should NOT be able to spin #8 with your hand.. this is the impeller.. it what pumps water through the system...see if it will pump water.. remove the hose with it running.. use a water hose to keep the system filled.. put your hand over the outlet and see if you can stop it from pumping... if you CAN.. you have found your problem. It should push water...period.. (When you remove the cover to check it,, look for signs of wear or broken vanes..

06 polaris 330 magnum wont move in any gear , whats the problem? where do I start troubleshooting?

Make sure the spring on the brake pedal that operated the park interlock hasn't stretched or come off the interlock, If the interlock and spring are ok,the problem most likely is behind the gear selector cover on the transmission. Water, moisture can get into this area and corrode the shift gears up or possible you could have broken tooth on one of the small gears

Something is rubbing on my clutch cover on my Polaris explorer 400 at the front end of cover. Can I fix this problem or not?

If you can identify what is rubbing on the cover, and then determine what needs to be done to prevent it from rubbing, you should be able to decide if you have the skills to perform the tasks needed.
That's what working on your own machines involves.

2011 Yamaha grizzly 700 special edition there is a plastic cover missing by left foot peg do you know what it is called looks like it covers oil dip stick area

These are often called plastic side covers or cowlings. Your Yamaha dealer should be able to give a quote on the price and then you can seek the part for much less elsewhere.

Have a 2011 polaris 6x6 800 that overheats every time I use it. The coolant will come out the over flow.

The most common causes of a water cooled engine overheating are (1) poor circulation of cooling fluid (bad water pump or stopped up radiator); or (2) inadequate air flow cooling (bad cooling fan); or (3) compression gases entering the cooling system (leaking head gasket or cracked block or head). The first check is to see if air is in the cooling fluid (small bubbles appearing in top of radiator or coolant reserve tank). If so, then #3 is the problem. The second check is to see if the cooling fan (s) is running properly (can feel air flow on output side?). If not check wiring and/or replace fan (#2). The last step is to drain the radiator and engine (turn over engine to allow water pump to empty the block). If additional cooling fluid does not drain out the radiator drain port, the water pump is defective. If the water pump does empty the block, then flush the system with a good flushing agent. Follow instructions on flushing agent bottle. Drain out the flushing agent and re-fill radiator and block with clear water. Run engine as per instructions on flush agent bottle. Drain system again and re-fill with antifreeze (50%) and water (50%). If vehicle is located in a very cold climate, then increase the antifreeze % up to 75% (25% water). Remember, not only does antifreeze help to keep water from freezing, but it also helps to increase cooling ability.

It turns over, new battery. It's getting gas to the carb but won't start. Side note, when I spray starter fluid into the airway to the carb and cover the airway so it can **** in some of it then I let

When you cover the intake on the carb you are causing the engine vacuum to draw too much gas take the carb off and check the float and the jets,
