Why do my front brakes on my 1997 Kawasaki Prairie 400 4X4 keep locking up

They normally will do that if you have lost the liner or pad, when you go to apply the brake becouse of no pad of drum liner brake pads travels to far before it reaches the rotor when it does get there, piston fully extended and it will lock the wheel

Honda FourTrax & Kawasaki Prairie 650 ' Outdoor Life

Honda decided not only to get into the 500cc-class automatic 4x4 camp, but to do ...by three electronic shifting programs: one for high-speed driving on easy trails; ... this innovation: Kawasaki made the Prairie 650 capable of starting in gear.

Kawasaki bayou 300. Won't move. Shifts into gear but won't move

The first things I would check are seized brakes and then transmission condition/fluids. The auto has 2 clutches I believe. Make sure everything is full on fluids

4 wheel drive light flashing on 2008 kawasaki prairie. What does this mean?

Depending on the flashing frequency, it could be the Electronic BRake controller, the 4x4 actuator or the brain.

Look for the service manual online, it has a procedure for checking/cleaning the actuator. It could be stuck with dirt and need a cleaning.

I have a 185 kawasaki bayou atv. the neutral light won't come on,you got to hold the shifter down alittle .how can i fix this? will not start untill it is on.it it is a 1986

I had a similar problem. pull start worked no problem, and starter only sometimes. turns out the starting system as a whole (starter, old wires, solenoid etc) were drawing so much power that it wasn't allowing much for power for the coil and spark. it was too weak
